"WE MADE A SUBMISSION FOR 305 BILLION NAIRA FOR THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS IN A VERY COMPREHENSIVE DOCUMENT" MR YAKUBU INEC CHAIRMAN SAID

INEC seeks #305billion for the 2023 elections as Mohammed Yakubu, Chairman for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed this during a meeting with the Senate Committee on Appropriation at the National Assembly on Monday.

"The commission made a submission through the executive being part of the executive body. We made a submission for #305 billion for the 2023 general elections in a very comprehensive 22-page document with 260 budget lines" Mr Yakubu said.

He said this required amount will help prepare for the elections and purchase the election materials needed and also covers several by-elections to hold across the country. Mr Yakubu stated that so far, 140 billion has been made available for the elections.
